There is nothing as exciting as seeing and hearing an aircraft buzz low over your head during airshows. Here are our top ten air shows around the world.

1 – EAA AirVenture Oshkosh – Wisconsin, USA

This one is for warbird enthusiasts. Over 10,000 aircrafts are on display and there are plenty of flybys, individual and team displays.

2 – Bournemouth Air Festival – Dorset, England

This is one of the biggest air shows in Europe with over a million people turning up to enjoy the aerobatic displays, hot air balloon rides, and static shows.

3 – Tannkosh – Tannheim, Germany

Over 1,000 pilots turn up with their aircraft for this show in Germany. It features vintage aircraft displays as well as cars and motorbikes.

4 – Royal International Air Tattoo – Gloucestershire, England

This one is for the military aircraft buffs and it is the largest exclusive military air show in the world. There are over 2 miles of static display aircraft and aerobatic displays.

5 – Reno Air Races – Nevada, US

This event is held every year in September and is a firm favourite for air race enthusiasts with 6 different classes of aeroplanes racing 3 to 8 miles courses.

6 – Abbotsford Airshow, Canada

This is Canada’s largest air show that about 125,000 people attend. Its focus is aerobatics by the Blue Angels, but there are also parachute display teams.

7 – Florida International Air Show, US

This air show features both military and civilian aircrafts performing aerobatic displays. There is also a great static display featuring World War II aircraft.

8 – Sun ‘n’ Fun International Fly-In, Lakeland, Florida US

This one is more of a pilot’s meet than a traditional airshow. Pilots fly their private planes in and you can see some interesting home builds and customisations.

9 – Miramar Air Show, San Diego – US

This air show is where the famous Top Gun film was made and each year, visitors are treated to an eclectic display by the Blue Angels.

10 – Great Tennessee Air Show, Smyrna, Tennessee – US

This event held in July focuses on stunt displays by professional pilots. There’s also a great static ground display.
